Theatre House Residence was an industrial and business district of the city centre during the first Republic of Estonia. The original building was destroyed during the March bombing of World War II, but fortunately part of the first floor’s masonry still exists. The building was rebuilt in 1952 and housed the Tallinn Oblast Government and then the Library of the Estonian Academy of Sciences.
