Description
Rent an apartment in a great location in the heart of Tallinn’s Old Town – where unique dining, a rich cultural and educational environment and the medieval Old Town as a UNESCO World Heritage Site meet.
The Kuninga 1 building is one of the most colourful representatives of Tallinn’s most treasured district. It is a magnificent 3-storey apartment building with an extremely long history.
HISTORY OF THE BUILDING
The earliest records of the building plot date back to 1339. The building on the site was first mentioned in 1407 in connection with the construction of a gate building. The present date of the building is based on a headstone with the date 1451, which has survived from the now destroyed vaults. The resemblance of the façade of the building to the front of the Pirita Monastery church suggests that the building was the work of a master craftsman from Pirita, H. H., who was a member of the monastery. Swalbart, who worked in the Pirita.
LAYOUT AND FINISHES
The 166.9 m² apartment on the 2nd floor of the apartment building is modern, open-plan and bright. The apartment consists of a living room with open kitchen, 2 bedrooms, bathroom, toilet, wardrobe and hall.
The apartment has been designed using a combination of neutral light colours and bolder shades of cherry and using durable, high quality materials. The floors are covered with wooden parquet, while the bathroom floors and walls are covered with high quality ceramic tiles.
The windows face the courtyard, making the apartment very quiet.
FURNISHING
At the moment the apartment is unfurnished, but it is also possible to rent it furnished on request.
The functional kitchen furniture includes high quality kitchen appliances: dishwasher, oven, electric cooker, air cleaner, fridge with freezer.
HEATING
The apartment is heated by district central heating. The Kuninga 1 complex has an active housing association and reasonable utility costs.
PARKING
Possibility to rent a parking space under the house in the garage.
LOCATION
Entering the spacious courtyard through the gate of the house on Kuninga Street, you will see a wonderful secret courtyard, whose seclusion is its greatest value. In the middle of the courtyard, where there is no street noise or weather, there is a feeling of complete separation from the rest of the world, because behind the walls and the gate, the usual hustle and bustle of the Old Town goes on – people moving through the cobbled streets, quiet music in the distance. But all of this is behind the gates and walls of Kuninga 1, and when you are in the garden, all you can hear is birdsong and see the uninterrupted cosiness of the courtyard. Here, you can forget that you are in the heart of the city, in the middle of the crowded Old Town.
The apartment is just a few minutes’ walk from cosy cafés and fine restaurants, culture and entertainment, beautiful parks and an attractive harbour area with sea views. Logistically, access to both the port and the airport is easy and quick.
The nearest grocery stores are Rimi and Kaubamaja grocery stores in the Old Town. In addition, Viru Keskus, Kaubamaja, Rotermanni Kvartal, Kalev Spa, My Fitness fitness club, Coca-cola Plaza cinema and much more are nearby.
Another added value to the bustling Old Town area is the proximity of schools offering high quality education – Gustav Adolf Gymnasium is just a few hundred metres away, and both the Old Town College and G. G. Ots Tallinn Music School. The nearest kindergartens are the Vanalinna Kindergarten and the Aiake Kindergarten of the Vanalinna Education College.
The apartment is ideal for someone who appreciates the charms of the Old Town.
At the time of signing the contract, you will have to pay: the first month’s rent in advance, a deposit and a broker’s commission.
