Description

Cosy 3-room apartment in the Old Town!

BUILDING

The building at 18 Suur-Karja Street was designed by architect Rudolf von Knüpffer and built in 1886. In 1917-1918 the building housed the premises of the Tallinn Workers’ House. At the beginning of the 1920s, the three-storey building was rebuilt and made taller on the basis of a design by the architect Artur Perna, and a new and large-scale reconstruction of the building at Müürivahe Street 14/16//Suur-Karja Street 18 // Vabaduse Square 2 was completed in 1923 as a six-storey building of AS Laenupank.

All major renovation works have been carried out in the last decade: the façade of the building has been renovated, a new roof has been installed (the attic and the attic have been insulated), all the windows have been replaced (wooden framed packet windows have been installed), all the electrical wiring has been replaced, as well as the hot and cold water piping and the sewerage. In addition, the staircases have been modernised, and wooden doors have been installed with a padlock system.

The building has 72 apartments and 8 non-residential spaces (offices, shops, catering).

The building has an elevator.

LAYOUT AND FINISHES

The apartment has been renovated in March this year.

The size of the apartment on the 5th floor is 45.5 m². The apartment consists of a living room with open kitchen, bedroom, office, hall and bathroom.

This cosy city centre apartment has plenty of light thanks to its large windows. All windows face the inner courtyard, which ensures complete quietness in the apartment.

It is a modern, open-plan, light-filled home with clean lines and natural materials. The calm colour palette used throughout the interior creates a modern, yet warm and homely feel. The floors are covered with simple and classic fishtail wood parquet in natural tones.

The bathrooms have tiled walls and floors, offering a sophisticated elegance and respectability.

FURNITURE

The apartment is equipped with all the necessary furnishings, fixtures and fittings, appliances and dishes.

The functional kitchen furniture is fitted with high-quality appliances: Electrolux ceramic stove, oven, dishwasher, Elica hood, Samsung fridge-freezer, Samsung microwave, Bosch coffee machine and kettle.

In the living room there is a Samsung flat screen TV.

In the office there is a wardrobe.

The apartment also has bed linen.

HEATING AND UTILITIES

The apartment is heated by district central heating, which ensures reasonable utility costs throughout the year – up to 140€ in summer and up to 250€ in winter.

There is an active and smartly managing housing association.

PARKING

Parking is available in the courtyard for 115€/month, subject to availability.

Parking around the house (in the T2 parking zone) is possible with a city permit. Within walking distance are the Vabaduse Square car park, Pärnu mnt 12 and Kaarli puiestee 2 car parks.

LOCATION

The apartment is just a short walk from cosy cafés and fine restaurants, culture and entertainment, beautiful parks and an attractive harbour area with sea views. Logistically easy and quick access to both the port and the airport.

The nearest grocery store is the Solaris shopping centre. In addition, Viru Keskus, Kaubamaja, Rotermanni Kvartal, Kalev Spa, My Fitness fitness club, Coca-cola Plaza cinema and much more are nearby.

Another added value to the bustling Old Town area is the proximity of schools offering high quality education – Tallinn French Lyceum is just a few hundred metres away, and both the Old Town Education College and G. Ots Tallinn Music School. The nearest kindergartens are the VURR kindergarten, the Old Town Kindergarten and the Aiake kindergarten of the Old Town Education College.

The apartment is ideal for a couple who appreciate the charms of the Old Town.
